The NIST Manufacturing Interoperability Program staff has years of experience developing standards, validating solutions, and providing interoperability results in the field of manufacturing. Building on this experience, NIST can: (1) Work with industry to develop the specifications necessary to provide your standardized nonproprietary solutions. (2) Establish validation, conformance, or interoperability testing and demonstration capabilities. (3) Concentrate on collaborative, definitive solutions for high-priority industry-defined interoperability problems such as supply chain management, distributed design and engineering, production management, and shop floor processes. (4) Develop new semantic- and ontology-based techniques for standards specification, software implementation, and systems integration. This is a marketing brochure expressing NIST's direction in semantics-based interoperability solutions to resolve the customer's need for system integration across their enterprise.
