Abstract

In this chapter, we present a series of correlation charts to aid in the interpretation of infrared spectra, and in performing infrared spectroscopic measurements. The correlation charts represent the characteristic absorptions that are produced by important moieties. In most cases, an indication is provided as to the strength of the absorption. We also present reference spectra of solvents along with important physical and chemical data, a wavelength wavenumber conversion table. The spectra of diagnostic compounds, such as compounds that might cause spurious peaks, are also included.
