Abstract

High Temperature Superconductor Wires and Tapes was one of the MS&T2006 symposia (October 15-19, 2006; Duke Energy Center, Cincinnati, Ohio) that covered recent advances in the area of high temperature superconductor (HTS) wires and tapes. The symposium was devoted to topics of current interest which included fundamental material properties studies, new growth methods, thick film fabrication, characterization, processing, and integration of crystal chemistry and phase equilibria. The proceeding papers of this symposium will be published in this special issue of the Journal of Electronic Materials. The guest editors of this special issue are experts in the field who are from the United States, Japan and Italy.
