This manuscript is a review of single crystal growth of high temperature superconducting materials. The introductory sections cover fundamentals of crystal growth with emphasis on special considerations for superconducting compounds, and the growth techniques that have been applied to these materials. State-of-the-art crystal growth approaches and crystal chemistry are then reviewed for each major class of high temperature oxide superconductors. The compounds considered include rare earth-doped lanthanum cuprates, Ba2YCu3O7 and its rare earth isomorphs, the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O phases, the thallium and mercury-containing cuprates, and other copper oxide and non-cuprate (i.e.,LiTi2O4, Ba1-xKxBiO3 and BaPb1-xBixO3) superconductors.
