Abstract

Our goal in the Green Button Initiative is to provide electricity customers with easy access to their energy usage data in a consumer-friendly and computer-friendly format, and to develop an interoperable ecosystem for utilities, manufacturers, and consumers worldwide who want to manage and improve the efficiency of energy usage. Because of its simplicity, we strongly believe that Green Button is well on its way to becoming the “common currency” of energy usage information for the energy sector.
