Abstract
The 85th annual meeting of the National Conference on Weights and Measures will be held in Richmond, VA, July 16-20, 2000. The theme of the Conference is Basic Standards - Building the Foundation for a New Millenium.The National Conference on Weights and Measures develops and recommends laws and regulations, technical codes for weighing and measuring devices used in commerce, test methods, enforcement procedures, and administrative guidelines for adoption by regulatory agencies in the interest of promoting uniformity of requirements and methods and State and local jurisdictions.The annual meeting of the Conference brings together government officials and representatives of business, industry, trade associations, and consumer organizations for the purpose of hearing and discussing subjects that relate to the field of weights and measures technology.
