Abstract
Charge and spin dynamics in La2-2xSr1+2xMn2O7 (x=0.4,0.5) are probed by magneto-Raman spectroscopy. A competition between charge-order, antiferromagnetic superexchange and ferromagnetic double-exchange correlations characterize a regime of short-range order in the paramagnetic-insulating state. An electronic continuum in the ferromagnetic-metal state is suppressed at low frequencies, indicating unconventional dynamics associated with 2D strongly-interacting electrons.
