A compact Josephson voltage standard (CJVS) was constructed using a fixed microwave frequency at 76.76 GHz. The transportability of the CJVS makes in-situ JVS intercomparison possible. The uncertainty of traditional JVS intercomparison using Measurement Assurance Program (MAP) is in a range of few parts in 108 at 10 V, limited by Zener non-linear drift, Zener environmental effects and shipping impact. By using the CJVS for JVS intercomparison the uncertainty can be improved by an order of magnitude approximately by eliminating these factors associated with Zener characteristics and shipping. This paper describes the construction of the CJVS. The protocol of JVS intercomparison using CJVS is discussed and examples of the application of CJVS in JVS intercomparison are presented.
