Abstract
The 2009 Materials Science and Technology Conference and Exhibition (MS&T09) took place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania, from October 25-29. The Conference was the leading forum addressing structure, properties, processing and performance across the materials community. MS&T09 featured American Ceramic Society (ACerS) 111th Annual meeting, the AIST Steel Properties & Applications Conference, the ASM 96th Annual Meeting, and the TMS Fall Meeting. These organizing societies provided MS&T09 with 56 symposia organized into eight themes, 7 short courses, poster sessions, an exhibit, a number of featured lectures, and various member services. The attendees this year was over 3200, with a total of more than 1500 papers presented in both oral and poster sessions. This report summarizes the events that took place that week.
