Tiffany Butler (Fed)

Tiffany Butler is a Patent Paralegal in the Senior Partnership Office in the Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Mrs. Butler’s responsibilities include maintaining the Intellectual Property database and reviewing ongoing submittals. She prepares patent documentation for filing and DN45 requests for agreements.

Before joining NIST in 2021, Mrs. Butler had a long career in the private sector.  She worked in various roles for several law firms in the Washington, D. C. area. Tiffany was the practice manager of an intellectual property law firm, was a Patent Prosecution Specialist, set up docketing systems, and served as a Patent Paralegal.

Tiffany received her undergraduate education in Sociology at Bowie State University and has professional certifications as a patent specialist and in paralegal coursework.  Her professional training for certification as a patent and trademark specialist is ongoing.
