Research Associate

Ms. Klingsick's research focuses on the impacts of toxic and nutritional elements in dietary supplements. She began her career at NIST as a PREP associate working on a collaboration between the NIST Dietary Supplement Laboratory Quality Assurance Program (DSQAP) and World Wildlife Fund investigating the measurement discrepancies and challenges for the analysis of seaweeds, specifically focusing on the toxic and nutritional elements in kelp. She has performed trace element analysis using techniques such as inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Jenna has also been involved with developing methods and trace element value assignments to support the Standard Reference Materials program and currently co-leads the DSQAP.
