Heidi Leonard (Assoc)
NRC Postdoctoral Fellow
Heidi Leonard joined the Complex Microbial Systems Group in 2018. She is creating methods to quantify microbial interactions using microfabricated devices and microscopy. Heidi received her BA in Chemistry from Pomona College and her MS in Chemistry from UCSD where she developed silicon nanomaterials for drug delivery. During her PhD at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Heidi developed a rapid antimicrobial susceptibility test using silicon photonic crystals. She enjoys studying the interface of microbiology with micro/nanotechnology using spectroscopy and microscopy.
