Anna Sberegaeva (Fed)

Dr. Anna Sberegaeva is Program Analysts in the Program Coordination Office, the Office of the Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology and NIST Director. In this role she supports various activities related to strategic planning, performance evaluation, and analysis, working closely with leadership from all NIST organizations across Laboratory Programs, Innovation and Industry Services, and Management Resources. Anna also serves as a liaison with the Department of Commerce on Evidence Act implementation, assisting in developing and reporting of the performance metrics and ensuring compliance with the legislative and Administrative requirements.

Before joining NIST, Anna held a position of Associate Program Officer at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on the Board of Chemical Sciences and Technology and the Board of Health Sciences Policy, where she was responsible for developing and managing project strategy and budget. She led and supported projects related to utilization and capture of carbon dioxide and methane, and clinical utility of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. While on the Board of Chemical Sciences and Technology, Anna also managed and organized convening activities for the Chemical Sciences Roundtable.

Anna was a postdoctoral fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education at the Naval Research Laboratory, working on organometallic catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide into chemicals and fuels. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland College Park and University of Florida respectively. Anna received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Linguistics from Herzen University in St. Petersburg, Russia.
