Anita Balachandra (Fed)
Senior Advisor, CHIPS R&D Office
Anita Balachandra is a Senior Advisor in the CHIPS R&D Office. Anita joined NIST in 2020 as a Regional Manager with the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Program, before being tasked to support the launch of the CHIPS Program and R&D Offices.
Prior to rejoining the Department of Commerce, Anita worked as a consultant to technology companies, with a special focus on the defense electronics community.
Awards
- 2023 NIST George A. Uriano Award for strengthening NIST extramural programs through contributions to the Metrology R&D working group, which positioned NIST to implement the CHIPS and Science Act.
- 2022 Department of Commerce Gold Medal Award for professional excellence through contributions to the 100-day report on Semiconductor Supply Chain Challenges, mandated by Executive Order 14017.
