The group is recognized for spearheading the development of optical dual-comb spectroscopy, demonstrating its technical value, and enabling its adoption by multiple industries. This technology provides a commercially viable way of measuring critical greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas wells, the agricultural industry, and other industrial sensing applications. This technology has been commercialized, is currently used to monitor fugitive emissions from more than 350 oil and gas wells, and is responsible for mitigating an estimated 40,000,000 cubic feet of harmful methane emissions.
