The group is recognized for the extensive redesign and redeployment of the Short Tandem Repeat DNA Internet Database (STRBase), which provides practitioners of human identity testing worldwide with a source and repository for key data needed for reliable forensics and genetic science. The team performed the exhaustive evaluation and redesign of the site's contents, IT security protocols, analytics and user interface needed to keep STRBase reliable, safe and available, and to improve its utility for practitioners now and in the future.
