The group is recognized for their effort to make NIST a more inclusive environment for working parents by creating dedicated and appropriately appointed lactation rooms across the multiple NIST campuses and establishing a policy to ensure that lactating individuals have the time, spaces, and permission to pump milk at work. The group's work provides lactating mothers with the flexibility, facilities and certainty they need to work on campus without compromising their family obligations and privacy, which is a significant step forward for inclusion at NIST.
