Fort is recognized for providing critical after-hours logistical handling of temperature-sensitive Standard Reference Materials (SRMS) that require cold storage to maintain stability and product integrity. He has routinely responded to after-hours freezer failure alarms, regardless of the day of the week or weekend, by relocating materials to other freezers and insuring prompt repair of the cold storage units. Fort's actions over the past 10 years have saved millions of dollars of SRM inventory from being destroyed.
