The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP) is seeking information and perspective regarding how other organizations (public sector, private sector, trade associations, etc.), consultants, and vendors have modeled and addressed organization learning and knowledge sharing, especially in a manufacturing services environment. The responses are intended to inform NIST MEP’s planning of the MEP Network Learning & Knowledge Sharing System (MEP NLKSS).
The MEP NLKSS is envisioned to include both the human and digital networks necessary to support access to expertise, best practices, communities of practices, and community resources, as well as training and professional development within the MEP National Network™. This will allow MEP Centers to access and impart relevant technical and strategic knowledge to small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) locally, regionally, and nationally.
Specifically, NIST is requesting responses to the 5 questions within the Request for Information. Please see the Federal Register Notice for more information. Responses will be accepted at meprfi [at] nist.gov (meprfi[at]nist[dot]gov) with the subject line “MEP Network Learning & Knowledge Sharing System RFI Response,” until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on August 17, 2018.
