Collaborations to Strengthen the Cybersecurity Ecosystem

National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Director, Rodney Petersen, was the Opening Keynote Speaker for the first annual summit on Canadian cybersecurity education and workforce development, CyberSmart, in Fredericton, New Brunswick (Canada), on May 24, 2017. Rodney provided a Roadmap to Establishing a Cybersecurity Education and Workforce Development Ecosystem that is Community-Oriented, Employer-Led, Learner-Centered, Standards-Based, and Outcomes-Driven. The CyberSmart 2017 Program, organized by OpportunitiesNB – New Brunswick’s lead business development organization, convened leaders from industry, academia, and government to identify and discuss priorities for a Canadian cybersecurity education and workforce development strategy. 

NICE also received an award for Exemplary International Leadership in Cybersecurity Education and Workforce Development from Cyber New Brunswick at CyberSmart 2017.
