A new brochure will help community planners to prioritize potential resilience solutions. The 12-page brochure summarizes the Community Resilience Economic Decision Guide for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems (EDG), an in-depth guide released earlier by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The brochure highlights the steps planners can take to capture and evaluate costs and benefits for the variety of resilience options a community may consider. The EDG can be used as a standalone tool, but it is most useful as part of a more comprehensive planning process and in combination with the NIST Community Resilience Planning Guide for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems released in late 2015 that is beginning to be used by a variety of communities.
