In response to the NCNR user community's request to make it easier for users to access their neutron scattering data from outside of the facility, the NCNR is implementing the following data access policy.
Beginning September 18, 2010 all neutron scattering data will be available via the NCNR public FTP site (ftp://ftp.ncnr.nist.gov/pub/ncnrdata/) on an opt-out basis. Specifically, if you wish to have your data available via public FTP then you do not need to do anything. It will automatically be available for you to download, provided that you know the identity of your data files.
If you do not want to make your data files available via the public FTP site, you can choose to opt out of this through a simple mechanism at the time of your experiment at the NCNR. You can discuss the details of opting out of this data access mechanism with your local contact.
All data will be made available via the public FTP site after 18 months have elapsed since the date of creation of the data. Note that all data that is 18 months or older is currently available via the public FTP site.
