NIST Equal Employment Opportunity Award Goes to Sunder

Sivaraj Shyam Sunder, a resident of BETHESDA, Md., has received the Equal Employment Opportunity Award from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. First presented in 1977, the award recognizes significant contributions to EEO that have been performed in an exceedingly outstanding manner by an agency employee.

Sunder led a comprehensive review of NIST’s diversity policy and activities that resulted in significant revision and strengthening of the diversity and mentoring programs. By consulting with a broad spectrum of NIST staff and managers, including the NIST Diversity Board, Sunder assured that the study reflected the needs and priorities of the entire NIST community.

Sunder serves as the senior program analyst in the Office of the Director.

An agency of the Commerce Department's Technology Administration, NIST promotes economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements and standards.
