In a special 90-minute colloquium, we will hear from three scientists in the prestigious AAAS-Lemelson Invention Ambassors program, which promotes top-performing innovators. The program is co-organized by AAAS, the world's largest general scientific society, and the Lemelson Foundation, a non-profit that supports the power of invention. The ambassadors will tell us about their innovations in drug delivery systems, information technologies for electronic voting and data mining, and developing new products that mimic nature. In addition to sharing details about their inventions, the speakers will also share their insights about entrepreneurship, coming up with -- and recognizing -- good ideas, and the pathway from discovery to invention. A panel discussion will follow brief talks by each of the presenters. To learn more, visit www.aaas.org/invention.
