On October 21, 2020, Chris Clavin, Research Environmental Engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Community Resilience Group, will present NIST's Community Resilience Planning Guide as part of Resilient Virginia's Fall 2020 Resiliency Academy.

Join Resilient Virginia for one or both of the last two Fall 2020 Resiliency Academy webinars that highlights Resiliency Planning Guides that communities can use to become more adaptive in the face of disasters of all kinds.  The need for overarching and inclusive resiliency plans that integrate health, equity, social and economic concerns with ever-increasing climate disasters has been highlighted by the current COVID pandemic’s impact on communities. Learn how to develop a resiliency roadmap for your community at the October 21 webinar.

Workshop attendees will:

- Understand the NIST approach of developing integrated steps to the “preventive care” of a community’s buildings and infrastructure systems;
-See how NIST connects the built infrastructure with social and economic infrastructure;

-Learn about the additional Economic Decision Guide and EDGe$ that helps localities analyze options and decide on priorities for mitigation or recovery actions;
-Connect with examples that illustrate how communities around the country with resilience plans can be better prepared after a disruptive event to respond, recover and build back better.

Visit the Resilient Virginia website to find out about the entire Fall 2020 Resiliency Academy series.
