Metamaterials with near-dispersionless response over broadband are interesting as they offer launch angle independent coupling of light. Plasmon mediation, in such structures, allows strong local field in addition to transmission enhancement. It would also be interesting to have true antireflection coatings that suppress reflection over broadband and for all incident angles. In this talk, I will present our recent results on plasmonic quasicrystals and dielectric metamaterials conforming to optical reflectionless potentials. While plasmonic quasicrystals offer designable spectral response and near dispersionless transmission bands, reflectionless potentials offer < 0.5% reflection over broadband (0.5-2.5µm) and all launch angles (measured in the 0°-50° range).
