Sae Woo Nam Receives 2008 Rabinow Award
Dr. Sae Woo Nam is recognized for the development and application of ground-breaking single photon detectors, which are furthering some of the world's most challenging endeavors including quantum cryptography, quantum computing, the examination of fundamental assumptions of quantum mechanics, and the ultimate traceability of optical power. Dr. Nam's accomplishments include single photon detectors with world-record efficiency in the commercially important telecommunication band, record-holding demonstrations of quantum key distribution (QKD) for ultra-secure communications, and the investigation of quantum states of light for improved metrology.
