Karen Wetzel Receives the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity 2023 Service Recognition Award

Congratulations to Karen Wetzel for receiving the 2023 Service Recognition Award in recognition for her outstanding cybersecurity contribution to the community and the Nation from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity.  Karen joined NIST in 2020 to serve as the first Manager of the NICE Framework.  Karen has participated in the Evidencing Competency Working Group and seeks to increase alignment between the NICE Framework and educational approaches, including the development of competencies for students and the ongoing evolution of Knowledge Units that provide the criteria by which academic institutions are designated as a Center of Academic Excellence.  The award was presented by the Community of Practice in Cyber Defense Education at the annual Centers of Academic Excellence 10^th Annual Symposium on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Seattle, WA.
