Mary Jo DiBernardo, Program Manager in the Standards Coordination Office, received the ANSI Meritorious Service Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the U.S. voluntary standardization system. She has demonstrated outstanding service in enabling ANSI to attain the objectives for which it was founded.
Ms. DiBernardo has been a program manager at NIST for over 22 years. She currently manages a standards and conformity assessment training program for federal agencies, including a two-week Standards Boot Camp Program, and the NIST Standards Services Curricula Development Cooperative Agreement Program. This program provides support to U.S. colleges and universities to integrate standards and standardization content into courses, modules, seminars, and learning resources for undergraduate and graduate students. She is the co-vice chair of ANSI’s Committee on Education and was the first recipient of ANSI’s Next Generation Award in 2004. Ms. DiBernardo holds a MPA and a BA from the State University of New York at Albany. Additionally, she has earned a graduate certificate in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a professional certificate in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from Georgetown University.
Awardees were honored at the ANSI Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony, held in conjunction with World Standards Week, on May 18, 2022, in Washington, DC.
