Bioassay Methods Group

Welcome

The Bioassay Methods Group develops and applies standards and methods for all analytical and bioanalytical measurements pertinent to instrument calibration and validation to ensure bioassay performance for identification and quantitation of molecular and biological species; investigates fundamental biological processes by means of spectroscopy, electrochemistry, calorimetry, and molecular biology measurements to develop new and improved techniques, methodologies, and standards; uses state-of-the-art techniques and methods to explore and resolve measurement issues in molecular biology, nanobiotechnology, immunology, biophysical chemistry, molecular spectrometry and surface chemistry; works with users and manufacturers of analytical and bioanalytical instruments to assess method performance and to determine and address existing and future standards needs ranging from device calibration and instrument performance to the development of biological reference materials and procedures; works cooperatively with other government agencies and laboratories to improve the quality and reliability of their measurements in the biological sciences; and supports a broad range of health, defense, environmental, and energy research related activities and customers.
