An improved electrochemistry capability

The original Initiative proposal concentrated on having electrochemistry capabilities on both VSANS and CANDOR. It was later accepted that more impact could be made from reducing the duplication of hardware between the instruments and adding a fluids-handling robot for CANDOR. As such there is a singular potentiometer workstations but with cooperation in scheduling instruments this is unlikely to be an issue sharing between instruments at the moment.

VSANS Electrochemical cell development

We have tested thermal response for PEEK VSANS cells compared to regular titanium cells:

Working on:

Lower temperature control; capability to scan parallel to cells for SANS (10-100 micron resolution); Investigate possibilities for electrolyte and membranes asymmetric electrode environments
