SD-55 CRYOSTAT
This is a bottom loading cryostat. This has the disadvantage of making the preparation process more time consuming and a sample change while cold impossible. The advantages are that the sample space is large and sample mounting is easy because of the standard mounting disc. A tail set with quartz windows designed for SANS can be used to substantially decrease the aluminum in the beam. This system is an ideal choice for low temperature SANS experiments as well as high pressure experiments using the large clamp cell (< 2.5GPa).
