Shelly Pollard works as a Communications Specialist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Office of Advanced Manufacturing (OAM), which also serves as the Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office for Manufacturing USA. Shelly received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland.
Before joining OAM, Shelly had more than 20 years of experience analyzing and managing key programs, projects, and initiatives as a strategic communications lead at the National Institutes of Health. Her most recent position was as Outreach Coordinator for the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD). In her role at NIMHD, Shelly organized the Institute’s public engagement strategies to raise awareness of minority health and health disparities, prepared a variety of formal and informal reports for key leadership officials, and established and maintained partnerships with targeted interest groups.
At OAM, Shelly will develop and execute communication plans for NIST OAM projects, funding opportunities, and awards to develop partnerships, outreach, communications, and manufacturing workforce initiatives to raise awareness and interest in advanced manufacturing.
