Recertification of Neutral Density Standard Reference Materials for Regular Spectral Transmittance

The certification for all SRM neutral density filters expires after two years. We maintain a program to recertify such filters produced by us. Filters returned for recertification are measured in the "as received" condition, taken apart and carefully cleaned, and then a final recertification measurement is made. The filters are returned to the customer with a "Report of Recertification" that serves as a replacement for the original certificate. The report contains the "as received" data as well as the new certification data, to permit the customer to evaluate the performance of the filters during the prior certification period.

• SRMs 930x, 1930, 2930, and 2031x should be recertified every two years.
• The current price for recertification of SRMs 930x, 1930, and 2930 is 1144.00 USD, for SRM 2030 is 778.00 USD, and for SRM 2031x is 1602.00 USD, plus additional shipping charges, if applicable. Additional shipping charges are as follows: within the U.S. and Puerto Rico, no extra charge; to Brazil, add 120.00 USD; to elsewhere in Central or South America, add 20.00 USD; to anywhere else, add 10.00 USD.
• You do not need a Return Authorization Number to send your filters, but you do need to provide payment information for recertification to commence.
• Required payment information: Company Name, Shipping Address, Billing Address, Filter Type (for example, SRM 930d), Filter Set Number (for example, set 311), the taxpayer identification number (TIN, for U.S. customers only), and a Contact Name with E-mail Address and/or Phone Number.
• If you are paying by purchase order, then in addition to the information above, we require the P.O. number and the value of the P.O. in U.S. dollars.
• If you are paying by credit card, also include the type of card and its number, expiration date, and owner name.
• If you wish to pay by wire transfer see below.

You may choose one of three ways to provide the required information:

1. The best way is to type all the required information onto one sheet of paper, put it in an envelope, and pack the envelope inside the box with your filters.
2. Alternatively, you may e-mail the list of required information to filter.recert@nist.gov.
3. The last option is to put a purchase order inside the box with your filters. However, please note that some purchase orders do not contain all the information listed above. Check your paperwork carefully. If any of the required information is missing, the return of your filters will be significantly delayed.

Your filters will be returned only after we receive the required information in one of the above ways. The average turnaround time is four weeks.
