Title: Interaction Effects of Information Technologies and Best Practices on Construction Project Performance
Published: April 01, 2013
Abstract: This paper assesses the impact of information technology use and Construction Industry Institute defined Best Practices on construction project performance. Using data from 133 projects collected in 2008 and 2009, correlations between Best Practice- use and project performance, and information technology use and project performance are investigated. In addition, interactions between Best Practice and information technology use on project performance in terms of cost, schedule, and rework are tested. The findings highlight the potential for synergistic effects of information technology and Best Practice use on construction project performance.
