| Title: | Effects of disorder and internal dynamics on vortex wall propagation |
| Published: | May 26, 2010 |
| Abstract: | Experimental measurements of domain wall propagation are typically interpreted by comparison to ideal models that ignore the effects of extrinsic disorder and the internal dynamics of domain wall structures. Using micromagnetic simulations we study vortex wall propagation induced by fields or currents in the presence of random disorder and show that the results can be understood in terms of an effective damping that increases with the disorder. |
