| Title: | Robots to the Rescue |
| Published: | June 30, 2009 |
| Abstract: | Despite current limitations, robots can still play a significant role in helping the response community by being their eyes and ears in dangerous, unknown, or difficult-to-access locations. This article describes how the National Institute of Standards and Technology, sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security, is working with responders and robot developers to define metrics and test methods for measuring robot performance. |
