| Abstract: |
On May 3, 2004, NIST sponsored a workshop to identify the information needs for emergency responders. The purpose of this workshop was to obtain guidance on the type of building static and dynamic tactical information needed by public safety officials, how best to present it, what security measures are required, and to explore the need for new standards that allow quick and reliable transfer of this information. The workshop was preceded by a white paper laying out common practice and desire of the first responder community for information which would improve its response and provide a higher level of safety for them and the community. |
