Abstract

In Low-Tech Blues [June], you note that we are surrounded by clocks, but lament the lack of systems to set them automatically. Our job is to help fix that. Your readers can use our time servers (www. Bldrdoc.gov/timefreq/service/its.htm) to automatically set the clocks on their Internet-connected products. Thank you for pointing out that more and more clodks and watches receive the time broadcast from our radio station WWVB. Looking to the future, as AM and FM broadcast radio goes digital, we've asked the FCC to include time data in the bit stream. Strong local signals will engender even more self-setting clocks.
