| Title: | Speed of Sound and Other Related Thermodynamic Properties Calculated From the AGA8 Detail Characterization Method |
| Published: | November 19, 2003 |
| Abstract: | The AGA8 Detail Characterization Method allows for the calculation of the compressibility factor (or pressure) for a natural gas mixture given known conditions of density and temperature. Iterative procedures can be used to calculate the density when the pressure and temperature are known. Other therm-odynamic properties such as the speed of sound, heat capacities, enthalpies, entropies can be calculated from the AGA8 model if it is expressed in terms of its Helmholtz energy counterpart. In addition equations for the ideal gas heat capacity are required for each of the constituents in the mixture. All required equations andcoefficients are outlined here. |
