NIST has recently established an institutional membership with the Health Industy Business Communication Council (HIBCC) - the ANSI-accredited standards development organization. HIBCC featured a welcoming article in their Sept-Dec 2005 magazine that highlighted NIST's healthcare work through the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Advanced Technology Program, and Balridge Office. This article provides further example in what NIST is doing for healthcare in informatics, healthcare-related standards initiatives, and within the nationwide healthcare information network activities. |
