| Title: | Measurement Comparison of a Low-Intermodulation Termination for the U.S. Wireless Industry |
| Published: | July 01, 2001 |
| Abstract: | After the recent, successful completion of a passive intermodulation measurement comparison for nonlinear two-port devices, the National Institute of Standards and Technology was requested to perform a second comparison for a one-port termination. Whereas the first comparison allowed participants to determine the level of agreement in measurements of varying levels of passive intermodulation, this comparison allows companies to check their systems at or near the noise floor level. Since March 2000, five U. S. companies have participated in this intercomparison and have contributed 10 data sets for 4 different commercial communications bands. This report preserves company anonymity, and allows participants to determine how well their measurements compare to ensemble averages. The study shows that the majority of the participants report PIM levels within two standard deviations of the mean values. |
