Spin-Polarized Inelastic Electron Tunneling Spectroscopy of Molecular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

Abstract

Inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy (IETS) of molecular magnetic tunnel junctions of self-assembled octanethiol molecules confined between two ferromagnetic electrodes was investigated. Obtained IETS spectra confirmed the presence of molecular species sealed inside the junction. Measured tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) showed bias dependence, and spin-polarized IETS measurements have been performed to investigate such dependence.
