| Title: | What Are the Lights on Your Surge Protector Telling You |
| Published: | August 01, 1998 |
| Abstract: | Surge-Protective devices (SPD) applied in low-voltage ac power circuits should be provided with appropriate means to disconnect a failed SPD from the power system and provide a clear indication of the SPD status. This objective has not been consistently applied by manufacturers, as shown by an informal survey of off-the-shelf devices. More specific and clear standards are needed to overcome the present ambiguity. |
