|Abstract:||We have recently used stimulated-Raman transitions in the resolved sideband regime to cool single ions to the n = 0 zero-point energy. This has allowed realizations of the Jaynes-Cummings model interaction for atomic motion and a quantum controlled-NOT gate applicable to a quantum computer.|
