TRECVid Multimedia Event Detection Evaluation Track

The Multimedia Event Detection (MED) evaluation track is part of the TRECVid Evaluation. The goal of MED is to assemble core detection technologies into a system that can search multimedia recordings for user-defined events based on pre-computed metadata. The metadata stores developed by the systems are expected to be sufficiently general to permit re-use for subsequent user defined events.

MED13 will be the fourth evaluation following the 2010 MED Pilot 2011 MED, and 2012 MED evaluations. MED13 will include 20 new events, and a pilot Ad Hoc event evaluation. Please visit the  web site for further details.

Data will go out to participants who have signed the data licensing agreements beginning April 2013.
