A robot arm is attached upside down to the bottom of a suspended work platform using the RoboCrane cable configuration. The robot carries a retro-reflector as an off board laser track measures the retro-reflector position as it moves through the robot workspace measuring rigidity of the RoboCrane cable configuration.
