|Abstract:||An alternate model is proposed to calculate the diffraction elastic constants from the elastic constants of the single crystal. It is based on the inverse elastic susceptibility and thus it is related to the elastic polarization approach widely known as the Eshelby-Kröner model but it is more sensitive to the effects of elastic grain-matrix interaction and the grain shape. The agreement with experimental data is significantly better than any of the commonly used models.|
