Title: Raman Intensity Calibration With Glass Luminescence Standards
Published: January 01, 2000
Abstract: This Paper describes the NIST development of standards and procedures for the calibration of the Raman Spectral Intensity. The work is based on the NIST proposal of the use of luminescent glass standards for the transfer of the white light calibration to correct for the instrument response function. Reported are the results from this Raman Standards Project presently focused on Raman work with excitation at five laser excitation wavelengths. The intensity calibration procedures are illustrated for the case of Raman excitation at 785nm, employing a Cr-bearing silicate glass characterized by broad-band luminescence emission. The validity of the intensity calibration is discussed for the measured spectrum of cyclohexane in terms of the calculated band area ratios.
