Mission & Vision

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE), a part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is a collaborative hub where industry organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions work together to address businesses’ most pressing cybersecurity challenges. Through this collaboration, the NCCoE develops modular, easily adaptable example cybersecurity solutions using standards, best practices, and commercially available technology.

Established in 2012 through a partnership between NIST, the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, the NCCoE is dedicated to furthering innovation through the rapid identification, integration and adoption of practical cybersecurity solutions.

About the Center

The NCCoE is a part of the Applied Cybersecurity Division of NIST’s Information Technology Laboratory. The NCCoE brings together members of private industry, government agencies, and academia. Together we create practical, standards-based solutions that organizations of all types and sizes can use to protect their assets, people, and data.
